Rathdown boasts a very active and accomplished Athletics program, encompassing Multi Events (combined events), Cross Country (January), and Track and Field (May). In September 2006, three Rathdown girls won medals at the All Ireland Combined Events at Santry. This year two girls, Hannah Jenkinson and Orla Macken, have been selected to the Athletics Ireland Regional Squad. Well done girls, and good luck to all athletes during the rest of the year.
East Leinster Athletics Championships - May 2008
Rathdown School had some outstanding results in the East Leinster Athletics Championships this year. The School won 1st place in the Seniors, Inters and Juniors competitions, 2nd Place in the Under 16 competition and 4th place in the Minor competition, and Rathdown School won best school overall. There were 29 girls who have qualified for the Leinster Athletics Finals which will be held in Santry on 17th and 21st May. For a full list of the Rathdown results please click here.
