Rathdown Basketball

After a legacy of success at Netball, Rathdown has now entered the world of Irish Basketball. The Irish schools netball league has sadly died out, with us and Holy Child Killiney the only teams left. We have thus introduced basketball as an exciting prospect for Rathdown.

This year we have entered our first and second years into the South Dublin League, with the 3^rd years training hard for next year when they will enter the Cadette League. Netball is still being played by the 4^th, 5^th and 6^th years who will have the league finals coming up in March.

We would like to welcome Mr Eoin Chubb as one of our Basketball coaches. As a well established coach and ex-Irish International player, Eoin is a huge asset to Rathdown Basketball and is really getting the best out of the players. Eoin currently coaches at his home club and plays for UCD Marian.

A big thank you to Paddy May and Mairead Lynch, who have been helping out since October. May their good work continue!

Both Minor (1^st yr) and Junior (2^nd Yr) leagues start this Saturday against Holy Child Killiney. Please come and show your support!

(All 4.15 – 5.45pm)
