Welcome to Rathdown School's website and thank you for visiting us.  I hope that by reading through these web pages you will get a feel for the School, its students and the community to which we all belong.

Rathdown School has a rich heritage, a vibrant and progressive present, and a very exciting future.  Since Rathdown was formed in the early 1970's, we have been educating, inspiring, nurturing and empowering girls. Women today have more choices open to them than ever before in our history - more doors to walk though, more lifestyle choices to make, more to adapt to, and more to aim for. They need strong educational foundations, resourcefulness, compassion, confidence and the self-awareness to understand who they are and where they wish to go in life.  Rathdown aims to support and promote each student's academic, cultural, creative and spiritual capabilities.  We have a strong educational philosophy, talented staff, excellent facilities and a dynamic community atmosphere.  We also have a powerful and exciting vision for our future and an ambitious plan to realise that vision.

I recommend that you take some time look at our Master Plan (button to the left) and see what our future will look like. You can also get a good feel for the School by scrolling the 'News and Events' archive (also on the left). And if you still have some questions, please contact us.

I hope to meet you soon.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Barbara Ennis
Principal
