We have taken some time to consider all of the safety and logistical aspects of running Camp Rathdown this summer and how this would fit with the planning and logistical aspects of ensuring that we can provide the safest and most robust systems for the return to school in the autumn.
As we are first and foremost a school with a campus that caters for children as young as 2 years and 8 months all the way up to 18- and 19-year-olds completing their Leaving Cert, we feel it is necessary to prioritise the autumn return to school for Rathdown’s students over all other concerns.
To this end, we have made the decision that Camp Rathdown will not operate for either the Junior School or the Pre-School this summer. This clears the way for us to get on with the multi-faceted task of putting in place a comprehensive plan for the best 2020-2021 academic year as is feasible.
We hope that a fully operational Camp Rathdown will be possible in the not too distant future.
