Junior School Principal Welcome
A Place of Belonging
Welcome to Rathdown Junior School, a vibrant, colourful, friendly and happy place of learning.
We are a place of creativity, curiosity, discovery, questions, passion, determination, ambition, friendship, fun, courage and empowerment: a Place of Belonging for your daughter.
We welcome girls from three to 12 years of age, we provide a child-centred learning environment with small class sizes, specialist teachers, extensive extra-curricular activities, state-of-the-art ICT equipment and a year-round Extended Day Programme which opens from 8 am to 6.30 pm. We offer a home-from-home boarding experience for girls from age 11 and upwards through the Senior School.
Small classes mean that every child receives high-quality individual attention; your child will not get lost in the crowd. She will be treasured, supported and nurtured; we are deeply interested in the individual child, and all of our students receive our time and our attention.
A wide variety of extra-curricular activities enrich the children’s experience.
Our exciting and broad curriculum places a strong emphasis on cross-curricular and co-operative learning, catering to the talents and abilities of each individual child. We pride ourselves on a strong sense of community in Rathdown, where teachers and parents work closely together to make sure that every student gains the confidence, knowledge and essential skills to meet their own unique potential.
In a safe, inclusive and secure setting, creative and enthusiastic teachers offer the best start for young enquiring minds. Rathdown Junior School is a place where strong foundations are laid and happy memories made. We are a school where children really can be children, while at the same time being skilfully prepared with the knowledge, skills and values needed for the challenges of life in the 21st century.
A wide variety of extra-curricular activities enrich the children’s experience. We strike a balance between being a forward-thinking school with contemporary ideas while at the same time emphasising the good old-fashioned values of honesty, respect and loyalty.
