It was another great morning of results here at Rathdown School. Congratulations to the Leaving Certificate Class of 2019!

There was a celebratory feel as students opened their results today.

Head of School, Mr Brian Moore said: "I am delighted to see the Class of 2019 achieve such wonderful results. They have been a credit throughout their time at the school. We wish all students every success for the future. The students and staff have worked extremely hard to achieve these results and we are very proud of their achievements. Parents have supported our students very well and the Rathdown School community has much to celebrate today."

Our students possess an impressive record of achievements and we are extremely proud of them all. Their successes show that with commitment, motivation and hard work we can all achieve great things. Rathdown School Leaving Certificate results for the previous 6 years, 2014 to 2019 inclusive make for most impressive reading. Over this time period:

  • 1 in 5 of students scored over 550 points
  • 2 in 5 scored over 500 points
  • 60% scored over 450 points
  • Three-quarters of all students scored over 400 points
  • Our median point score (the middle score) is 475 points

We celebrate every students’ results – from those obtaining the maximum score to girls who struggled throughout but obtained their target and more. Of course, CAO points obtained are not a true measure of a student’s life in school. Individuals are not remembered for their points total but for their participation across all aspects of school life on the sports-field, stage or in the classroom and for their personality, humour, attitude, work ethic, and talents, of which this cohort had many.

We now wish each and every student success in their next big adventure, be that university, a gap year or another path entirely. Congratulations once again – we are all extremely proud of you!
