Nothing brings a group together like the experience of performing on stage, where everyone has a role to play and the sum of the parts most definitely outweighs individual contributions.
Music and Performance have always formed a core component of student life at Rathdown School, appealing to all ages and levels.
Students are provided with numerous opportunities to enjoy music and performing arts in the School’s state-of-the-art Music School, which features soundproof practice rooms and an auditorium.
Both individual and group tuition is available in a wide variety of instruments, as well as vocal coaching and music technology. All of our classes and choirs are also open to the public.

Music plays a vital role throughout school life in the Junior School. Music is made accessible to all students, whatever their abilities, whether being inspired for the first time or developing existing skills. With plenty of performance opportunities, the girls’ confidence is positively built.
From the harp to trombone, individual music lessons are available at extra cost.
Drama plays a vital role in helping our students to gain confidence and to develop their imagination and communication skills.
There are a number of dramatic performances throughout the year. The Infants are all involved in a wonderful Nativity performance and a summer production.
